Daniel Bwala, a media aide to President Tinubu, made the appeal on Thursday through the social media platform X.

Bwala’s message comes in response to El-Rufai’s public criticisms, which raised concerns about the direction of the Tinubu-led government.

Bwala reminded El-Rufai of his pivotal role in the 2023 presidential campaign, suggesting that the former governor’s recent actions may be driven more by personal vendetta than by a sense of patriotism.

El-Rufai, in turn, responded by emphasizing that he never sought any position in Tinubu’s administration and that his criticisms were directed at what he described as the “tragedy” within the ruling party.

He also accused certain individuals of blindly defending the government’s decisions.

In a follow-up message, Bwala urged El-Rufai to address his grievances within the party and return to the fold.

He wrote: “You are still my senior brother, @elrufai. I’ve always respected and admired you, not just for your brilliance but also for being one of the brightest leaders from the northern part of the country. My concern, however, is the motive behind your statements and actions. They appear to be driven by a desire for vengeance rather than patriotism. The opposition sees this as an opportunity to recruit you.”

Bwala further emphasized that both he and El-Rufai had played key roles in Tinubu’s presidential candidacy, citing their collaboration ahead of the 2023 elections and their respective backgrounds in different factions of the APC.

He also reminded El-Rufai that the APC remains the only well-structured political party in the country and called for a return to unity within the party.

“Please, senior, come home. You have worked tirelessly for this party,” Bwala concluded. ...CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE➤
