You recently had your 2024 Singles Hook up programme and you shut down Raddison blu. How come?

It’s the programe we’ve been doing for 4 years. To be sincere I never knew my brand is as big as that. I was expecting the regular crowd of 150, 200 but I was dazed when I saw the crowd of over 2500. The CEO of Raddison Blu had to call me. He said they’ve been calling him from other Raddison Blu, that what is going on in Nigeria. Even the white man in-charge of the Raddison Blu was perplexed, shouting everywhere when their securities couldn’t control the crowd. I told them I did not expect the turn out is going to be like that. It was something else. I had to take 500 people down to the place, restaurant for them to eat, so that they will not be left out.

Raddison was filled to the brim, we had many politicians, musicians in attendance. I heard Pasuma came around and left because he couldn’t enter. The crowd was massive, infact at some point they had to stop the party because they can’t control the crowd. I had to respect the Baba and stopped because he’s my godfather. So, now we have to look for another location for this year’s edition.

How did you start the Singles Hook Up Programme on Instagram?

I will say its just the grace of God. It was never in my plan to do it at all. God just decided to favour me, because I’ve faced so many challenges in the Yoruba movie industry. If you join the Yoruba movie industry with your money, there are many people that didn’t join as a Producer, they learned the job, so they will frustrate you that you are just coming to produce with your money. I’ve seen so many things in the industry but I’m one person that is very determined. If I lay my hands on any project, I must finish it. So, I was praying to God. And I have that believe that I will become a star. I used to tell many of my colleagues that I will become a star one day, and I thank God today. And this Hook up of a thing started when I challenged Tonto Dikeh over Baba Ijesha’s case.

People didin’t know me then but because of the way I was exchanging words with her people started noticing me, including Gistlover. Gistlover also tackled me, and I just had to calm down later. That time if I go live, I won’t have up to 20 people watching, but after the encounter with Tonto Dikeh and Gistlover people started watching my live program. Some of them said they wants to marry me. I told them I hasn’t available, then one day I decided to bring a guy up and one of the ladies who has been disturbing me. They met Online, exchanged contact and started dating. I did like 3 on that day. After the live programme people started messaging me, “Lege give me husband”. “Lege, give me wife” That was how I started match-making. There is no country I enter today that they don’t know me.

What are the testimonies recorded so far?

Atleast, I’ve joined 182 couples together. They met through my platform and they are happily married now. I have close to 20 who are in relationship as we speak, I’m sure some of them will marry each other this year. Some of them share their testimonies with us by giving us their wedding picture for our achieve. Some will just give me money like 3 million, 5 million to appreciate me, in camera, because they don’t want their pictures out there.

What about your own achievements, would you say it’s profitable?

I’ve achieved a lot through this match-making business. For instance, this apartment was rented before but now I’ve bought it. I’ve leaved here for 11 years, the owner came and asked me if I was interested in buying it, I was a bit reluctant but later I agreed. They asked me to pay 5% upfront for them to know that I was truly ready and I gave them 40%, 3 month later I balanced the 60%. Now the house is mine and I’ve perfected all the documentation.

Then, what about your relationship with Seyi Tinubu?

When I was small, even though I’m not learned but I was very smart. I am very bold. And I always say it that by the time I grow up I will have that boldness of talking to my age mate, even if he’s a President. I believe I have the right to question anybody at any time. Moreover Tinubu’s family is one family I love so much because of what Asiwaju did in Lagos. Along the line, I noticed Asiwaju has a son of my age mate, who is also doing well. I said if I’m not campaining because of the father I will campaign because of the son. It was that love for his dad that made him to invite me to Abuja. My friendship with Seyi Tinubu is not because of his money. Seyi Tinubu is very smart and knows how to observe people too. Many times I will go to Abuja, he would ask me to wait till the following day, probably because he wants to give me something and I won’t wait. I love him genuinely not because of his money.

Some people said you were lieing, that you can speak in English but you chose to act as if you are an illiterate, is it true? If not why didn’t you go to school?

I’ve lost so many opportunities just because I can’t speak good English. A company dropped me because I support President Tinubu but I don’t mind. I can’t speak good English because I didn’t focuse much on education when I was in school. I prefered money because I don’t want to go broke. But, today I still thank God for where I am. ...CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE➤
