The group, including prominent figures like Dr. Jackson Gaius-Obaseki, Chamberlain Oyibo, Funsho Kupolokun, and Andrew Yakubu, visited the refinery during their regular Former NNPC GCEOs Forum. On Wednesday, they toured the plant to assess its rehabilitation and progress.

Chamberlain Oyibo expressed satisfaction with the work done, stating that Nigerians are eagerly awaiting the products from the refinery. He emphasized the importance of speeding up the process so that the public could benefit from the operation. “This renovation is massive; it’s almost a brand-new refinery. The focus now should be on efficient operation, so Nigerians can see the products on the market,” he said.

Andrew Yakubu also confirmed that the refinery is operational, quelling doubts about its functionality. “I came here to see for myself. The refining process is complete. Petrol products are now in the tanks – I even smelled them, and they are real,” he declared. Yakubu also noted that the current management has plans to revive the Warri and Kaduna refineries as well.
