Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria, has revoked the land allocations of several prominent individuals and organizations in Abuja’s Maitama 1 District. The revocations were due to the non-payment of statutory fees required for the Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O) associated with these plots. The FCT Administration had previously issued notices urging allottees to settle their outstanding bills, warning that failure to comply would result in the withdrawal of their Rights of Occupancy (R-of-O). Despite these warnings, the affected individuals and organizations did not fulfill their payment obligations, leading to the revocations.
Additionally, the FCT Administration has issued a two-week ultimatum to 614 other individuals and companies, instructing them to pay their outstanding R-of-O fees or risk losing their plots. This move is part of a broader effort by Minister Wike to enforce compliance with land administration regulations in the FCT, ensuring that landholders meet their financial and developmental obligations.
This development underscores the FCT Administration’s commitment to enforcing land use regulations and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, regardless of the status of the individuals or organizations involved. ...CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE➤
