He made the appeal in light of the recent stampede that occurred during palliatives sharing events in Okija, Anambra State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

No fewer than 10 persons including children lost their lives while 10 others sustained injuries during a stampede at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Maitama, Abuja on Saturday.

The Anambra State Police Command confirmed that 22 people died in a stampede in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area of the state during the Obijackson Foundation’s Christmas rice distribution.

In a Facebook post, Igbokwe said, “Given what we saw in Ibadan, Abuja and Anambra I think we need to engage the Governors & National Assembly members to teach us how they have been sharing palliatives for years without tragic consequences.
