The initiative, aimed at supporting families during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, was officially launched on Thursday, December 19, at Murtala Square in Kaduna State.
Senator Tinubu announced that each state would receive 1, 200 bags of rice alongside N5 million to facilitate the transportation of the food items. Speaking at the event, the First Lady extended her gratitude to the Northern Christian Political Forum for their warm reception.
She also recalled a similar outreach programme conducted earlier in Imo State, in partnership with Hajiya Nana Shettima, the wife of Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Reflecting on the importance of gratitude, Senator Tinubu shared a Biblical reference, saying, ” I thank you for believing in this journey even when political challenges arose.
We, as Christians, know that ingratitude is a great sin. When Jesus healed the ten lepers, only one returned to give thanks, and Jesus asked, ‘ Where are the other nine? ‘ ”
The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the governors of Kaduna, Katsina, Benue, and Yobe states. Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, praised the First Lady for her generosity and dedication to humanity. Describing her as a ” caring and compassionate mother of the nation, ” Governor Sani highlighted how the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’ s commitment to alleviating economic challenges facing Nigerians.
” President Tinubu is a listening leader who hears the cries of the people and takes steps to address economic challenges. The future looks bright, ” Sani remarked.
This donation is one of several initiatives spearheaded by Senator Tinubu to uplift vulnerable groups across the country. Earlier this year, her office allocated N1. 9 billion to support elderly citizens, with N50 million specifically set aside for elders in Nasarawa State. Beneficiaries received N200, 000 each, marking an increase from the previous year’ s N100, 000 grant.
Through these impactful programmes, Senator Tinubu continues to demonstrate her commitment to fostering unity, providing relief, and promoting the well- being of Nigerians, regardless of region or religion. ...CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE➤
