BREAKING: Adebayo Urges Nigerians to Reject Tinubu, APC in 2027 Election

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) chieftain and its 2023 presidential candidate, has urged Nigerians to reject President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections. While Adebayo expressed well-wishes for President Tinubu, noting he prays for him daily, he made it clear that it was his duty to speak out against policies he views as harmful. “When the president’s policies go wrong, it is my duty to point them out and offer better solutions,” he stated, urging Nigerians to “walk away” from Tinubu and APC for the sake of future generations. He encouraged citizens to consider the SDP, framing it as an option free from animosity.

Adebayo clarified that the SDP isn’t against President Tinubu personally but against the issues that have defined his administration, such as underdevelopment, insecurity, poverty, and a devalued currency. “The SDP is not anti-Tinubu. We are against the failures that have plagued this government,” he said, citing long-standing concerns over Nigeria’s lack of transparency and economic mismanagement.

He further highlighted the decline of key sectors, such as the textile, petroleum, and agricultural industries, lamenting that many Nigerians who had hoped for improvement under Tinubu were now disappointed by the lack of progress. “Our textile and agricultural industries are in ruins, and the petroleum sector is only just beginning to recover after years of neglect,” Adebayo noted.

Despite this, Adebayo remained undeterred, stating that his opposition to Tinubu was not a new development but a result of his belief in the need for change. “That’s why I contested against him in 2023, and if given the chance, I will run again in 2027,” he added.

He explained that criticizing government failures didn’t equate to personal hatred but a desire for better governance. “Speaking out against poverty or poor infrastructure doesn’t mean I hate the people in charge—it means these issues should not exist,” Adebayo asserted, adding that the government’s failure to address fundamental issues like poverty, underdevelopment, and inflation is driving millions of Nigerians into deeper hardship.

Adebayo acknowledged that President Tinubu might be trying to address these challenges, but he believed that the methods being employed were flawed. “Historically, these methods have never worked,” he said, stressing the need for alternative approaches. Ultimately, he urged Nigerians to look beyond the current administration and seek a better path with the SDP. ...CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE➤
