This daring leader Shamsiyya, along with her four accomplices, now faces charges of criminal conspiracy, trespass, and theft before Chief Magistrates Court No. 18 in Gyadi Gyadi, Kano.
The unraveling of this audacious gang didn’t stop there. Following the initial arrests, four additional suspects—Fati Auwal, Kamal Sale, Usman Nasir, and Bashir Ibrahim—were taken into custody for their alleged roles in theft and dealing in stolen goods.
Their capture led to the recovery of a shocking twelve stolen mobile phones, shedding light on their sprawling network of illicit activities.
In a statement that underscores the magnitude of this breakthrough, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, revealed that no fewer than 86 individuals have lodged complaints against the syndicate, exposing the scale and brazenness of their operations
“The arrest and arraignment of this female-led syndicate mark a significant achievement in the command’s relentless campaign against crime,” Kiyawa announced.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has not only commended the efforts of his officers but also directed an intensified recovery of stolen items.
Expressing his gratitude to the law-abiding residents of Kano, Garba assured the public of the police’s unwavering commitment to restoring safety and security.
