Salome, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja, was killed when she visited Ajayi at his home in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area in Nasarawa State.

According to Channels Television, Ajayi was apprehended on January 12 while attempting to dispose of Salome’s head after allegedly dismembering her body.

He was paraded by the Nasarawa State Police alongside the weapons—a knife and machetes—used in the crime.

In an exclusive interview, Ajayi admitted to killing Salome, stating it was not premeditated but resulted from the couple’s strained relationship.

“I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time.

It wasn’t planned. It just happened,” he explained. He claimed to have discovered Salome was cheating on him after reading her phone messages with other men, which led to his violent reaction.

When asked if he had any regrets, Ajayi replied, “No. Life is reciprocal.

If you do something to someone, you must understand what they are going through.”

He emphasized that he felt no remorse because he believed they were “compatible.”

Salome’s family, however, expressed shock and disbelief over the relationship.

Her elder sister, Esther Adaidu, stated, “We didn’t know him.

We had never met him until we were informed that he murdered and dismembered our sister.”
