Speaking during a Valedictory Session of the National Executive Committee (NEC) held at the National Secretariat in Enugu yesterday, Chukwu emphasized the importance of impactful leadership and the legacy left behind.

“What matters is the impact and legacy with which we will be remembered. The millions of Igbo people all over the world are watching us with more than a passing interest on the quality of Ohanaeze leadership that will be enthroned on January 10, 2025.”

Chukwu assured members that the Screening, Appeal, and Electoral Committees for the upcoming Ohanaeze election comprised individuals with impeccable records.

He urged Igbo, particularly those in Rivers State, to ensure that candidates with integrity and proven accomplishments fill positions zoned to their states.

“Every true Igbo looks forward to a vibrant Ohanaeze Ndigbo; a sociocultural organization comprising men and women of honour, moral rectitude, and selfless service,” he remarked.

Chukwu called on the Federal Government to address insecurity in the South East by reviving industries to create employment opportunities for youths.

He advocated a balanced approach to resolving insecurity, combining kinetic and non-kinetic strategies.

Additionally, he urged stakeholders to prioritize youth empowerment, stressing that the future of the Igbo lies in their hands.

Members of the NEC praised Chukwu for his visionary leadership and courage in steering Ohanaeze through turbulent times.

They acknowledged his efforts in rewriting the Igbo narrative and described him as a leader who left his name in gold.
