According to the girl, who introduced herself as Princess, her boyfriend had no money. In an attempt to help him, she and her boyfriend conspired to fake her kidnap in order to extort money from her parents.
She explained that she told her boyfriend to stage her kidnap and demand the sum of 2 million naira from her parents, whom she described as well-to-do.
After receiving the money from her parents, she gave her boyfriend 1.5 million naira and kept 500,000 naira for herself. Unfortunately for them, her parents traced the supposed kidnappers and discovered that their daughter and her boyfriend were behind the scheme.
In her words, she said: “I faked my kidnap and got 2 million naira from my parents, gave my boyfriend 1.5 million, and took 500,000.”
