The Portuguese manager watch his team get beaten 3-0 by Bournemouth, who arrived in Manchester as firm underdogs. They took the lead in the first half before scoring twice in a matter of second-half minutes as they enjoyed a comfortable victory.
Amorim was taking questions in front of the media before the ceiling started leaking just in front of him. The stadium itself is in major need of a revamp, which is a priority for Sir Jim Ratcliffe who is weighing up his options.
The leaky roof at Old Trafford has become a laughing stock among fans with some members of the crowd often getting drenched when it rains with the stadium’s flaws clear to see.
On the pitch, the team’s deficiencies have also been glaringly obvious with Amorim seeing his team lose twice in the space of four days, conceding seven times in the process. They were beaten at Tottenham in midweek and then undone by the Cherries.
Amorim has a huge task on his hands but has called for calm and maintained that the difficult periods will pass as the team continue to get used to his demands.
He said: “It’s so much easier to pass on an idea when you’re winning and you’re scoring and you’re not conceding. But it’s also a great privilege to be here, so we have to continue now. Nothing bad lasts forever and nothing good lasts forever, so we have to continue again and be very strong in our ideas, especially in the bad moments. We will do it and try to win the next game.
“We just need to work on the way we play, that’s all. Focus on the job in the moment, not what you feel in the stadium. Just focus on the job you have to do when the ball is in one place, is in another place. It’s the only way I know how to help my players, is to focus on the job, just that.”
United will celebrate Christmas Day in the bottom half of the Premier League as they poor campaign continues. Amorim has now lost three of his last four of his last six games. ...CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE➤
